The Ritz-Carlton Residences Are Pitch Perfect Site of The Baltimore Symphony Associates 35th annual Decorators’ Show House

The 2011 Baltimore Symphony Associates 35th annual Decorators’ Show House at the The Ritz-Carlton Residences featured art, interior design, and inspiration from some of Maryland’s top interior decorators. From May 7-30, RXR Realty, developers of  The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Inner Harbor, Baltimore, hosted the BSO’s most popular fundraiser benefiting the Baltimore Symphony’s educational programs. While typically located at a historic home in the Baltimore region, this year’s event bucked tradition, taking place in two luxury condos at The Ritz-Carlton Residences. “The Decorators’ Show House traditionally took place in a historic home, so this new site offered fresh possibilities,” said Decorators’ Show House chair and long-time BSO volunteer Marge Penhallegon.

Approximately 50 designers collaborated to design and decorate the vestibule, foyer, kitchen, living room, dining room and patio spaces of two of the luxury residences. More than 6,000 people visit the Decorators’ Show House every year to gain inspiration from some of Maryland’s top interior decorators, including muralist Pat O’Brian, Regina Bello, owner of The Monogram Shop in Mt. Washington, Laura Kimball of LCK Interiors in Perry Hall, Betty Reeves of Harford Community College, and Hunt Valley’s Margaret Campbell Walsh of MCW Interiors are of few of the featured designers.

One of the great things about the Decorators’ Show House is that most of the furnishings and accessories are for sale, such as light fixtures and sofas. The Showhouse highlighted new trends in fabric and design for home décor, inspired by the harbor landscape. The designs ranged from contemporary luxe to traditional sophistication, but the million-dollar views and magnificent amenities of The Ritz-Carlton Residences created a dramatic backdrop for the Show House designers.

This event was a great way to showcase all The Ritz Carlton Residences waterfront property has to offer; luxury living with an ideal balance of neighborhood charm and downtown convenience.
